I'm dying with laughter over this.
Translating the second half of that Hakuouki Drama CD is making me laugh harder than anything, oh god. Kazama tells Kondou to steal Amagiri’s beard. And then tells Hijikata to bring back Hougyoku’s haiku collection. I can’t stop laughing. This is wonderful. THIS ALONE MAKES ME GLAD I HAVE ENTERED THIS FANDOM.

I was lucky enough to find the complete script for this online, so the translation has gone a LOT faster than it would have if I did the entire thing by ear. Suzuka Gozen (鈴鹿御前)
I… like translating stuff about/from Japanese folklore, so I ended up digging around for info on Suzuka Gozen (鈴鹿御前). There are a LOT of stories surrounding her, depending how far back you go, and I found a ton of sites. lol, might as well post this one here, too. I already posted it on my wordpress account. Anyway! This is the first chapter of the first story in the third Nuramago light novel (whew, that’s a mouthful).
The novel’s title is Nurarihyon no Mago: Kyoto Mugen Yobanashi (ぬらりひょんの孫 京都夢幻夜話) and the story’s is A Dark Mansion: The Girl and the Fox (冥闇の館・少女と狐).

[translation] Hakuouki Zuisouroku, Yamazaki part 1
I discovered that the script files from Zuisouroku were pretty easy to extract, so I thought I’d give translating some parts a go. There are two files that seem to center on Yamazaki, and this is the first of them. For reference’s sake, the filename is “209_yamazaki@”. The usual caveat about my Japanese ability/proficiency applies.

GOOGLE MAPS
Check out google maps today, and press the “Quest” button to view the world in all its old-style 8bit glory. Aside from how awesome this is (that’s some serious nostalgia right there for us old timers), there are even a boatload of “easter eggs” all around the map.
